What Can Affect the Data Center Cleaning Plan!

There are many factors that may not be planned in advance before starting the cleaning process and that negatively affect the effectiveness and timing of cleaning, which increases the time technicians spend on site and causes physical exhaustion without any real accomplishment.

1. Lack of clarity in the work plan: The absence of a specific schedule and clear working mechanism between the site manager of the building and the project manager of the executing party, in addition to the technicians, leads to constant adjustments in the scope of work and delays in implementation.

2. Conflict With Other Existing Works: Maintenance work or the installation of communication devices and cabinets at unspecified times, which stops technicians from working and hinders the progress of cleaning operations. It is preferable that cleaning be carried out with a minimum of other work inside the data center, other than necessary or emergency maintenance work.

3. Lack of Adequate Power Sources and outlets during implementation and lack of industrial plugs compatible with the plugs in the building.

4. Limited Execution Time: Restrictions on permitted working hours on site, which are not commensurate with the scope of the tasks required. It is preferable to have flexibility in the permitted time, especially outside peak hours for essential work in the data center.

5. Unavailability of Secure Room for storing cleaning equipment, or the location of such a room far outside the building, which increases the time required for security protocol procedures for daily entry and exit inspections.

6. Long Entry and Exit Procedures: Daily permits and lengthy procedures for inspecting individuals and equipment delay the start of work or departure from the site.

7. Less Familiarity with Site Procedures: Technicians' ignorance of safety and security protocols in the data center, exposing them to violations and problems with security personnel and safety managers on site.

8. Security Arrangements: Preventing technicians from entering or performing their tasks completely due to a lack of prior coordination with security management, or a lack of clarity regarding what technicians are allowed and prohibited from doing during the cleaning process in accordance with the site's security protocol. This prior coordination is very important, especially in data centers with high security sensitivity.

Advance coordination, clarity of the cleaning process, and excellent understanding by all parties involved, including project managers, cleaning technicians, and security and safety managers on site, ensure the smooth implementation of the data center cleaning project.
